my american friend Kate

My american friend is Kate Newman, she is very nice. Yesterday, i saw her for the first time because she went to visit her future university. She is very beautiful, she has got blond hair and blue eyes. She has got a boyfriend who plays soccer.

Fabien

Fabien est très gentil! Il est très aimable aussi. Il sait beaucoup d'anglais et les mots ont prononcés beaux. Il est brun et les yeux sont bruns aussi. Hier, nous sommes allés au aquarium. Il a pris beaucoup de photos. Il aime les baleines-requins. Il reste avec Stacia cette semaine.

Mon amie française Victoria.

Mon amie française s'appelle Victoria et elle est très gentille. Je viens de revenu chez moi hier, alors j l'ai rencontré seulement hier. Mais, nous sommes amies déjà. Elle a les cheveux bruns et les yeux verts. Elle n'aime pas le "root-beer," mais elle est courageuse parce qu'elle a essayé "root beer". Je suis d'accord, parce que je ne l'aime pas aussi. Elle a un blog et une addresse sur facebook. Je l'aime bien!

Fabien est très gentil. Il est intelligent et il parle l'anglais bien. Fabien aime mes chiens. Aussi, il a bu à Starbucks pour le premier soir. Nous sommes allé à l'aquarium et je pense qu'il a aimé les poissons. Son poisson favoris est le requin baleine.

Meg: J'ai rencontré Morgane vendredi. Nous sommes alleés au centre commerical qui s'appelle Lenox. C'était très amusant, et elle a acheté une nouvelle chemise. Ce soir, elle viendra chez moi. Je suis pressée pour ça. Elle est très gentille, et elle parle bien anglais. Je suis pressée de l'amener à l'entraînement de volley mardi soir.

Morgane: i saw Meg Friday afternoon for the first time. we went to the Mall called Lenox with Stacia and her friends. Today we went to the school i find the school great i am excited the school is very different to my school in France. This evening i will go to Meg`s house and i am excited to stay with her this week.

When French students from our sister school visit next week, they will learn more than math and science.

Ten students and two teachers from Lycée Louis Bertrand in Briey arrive on March 27. They will spend 10 days here and follow the schedule of their HIES pen pals.

"During their American experience they will not only improve their English skills, but also immerse themselves in our culture," says foreign language teacher Gerard Gatoux. "Going to the Aquarium, MLK memorial, Carter Center and World of Coca Cola are some of the highlights of their stay."

So if anyone would like to practice his or her French-speaking skills without traveling far from home, this is your chance.

Verdun

Verdun is a city in the Meuse department in Lorraine in northeastern France. It is a sub-prefecture of the department. Verdun is the biggest city in Meuse .

Verdun was the site of the Battle of Verdun in 1916 during World War I. One of the costliest battles of the war, Verdun exemplified the policy of a 'war of attrition' pursued by both sides, which led to an enormous loss of life.

There are many French and German cemeteries throughout the battlefield. The largest is the French National Cemetery and Douaumont ossuary, near Fort Douaumont. Thirteen thousand crosses adorn the field in front of the ossuary, which holds roughly 130,000 unidentified remains brought in from the battlefield. Every year yields more remains, which are often placed inside the ossuary's vaults.
