the Place Stanislas in Nancy

I'm going to talk to you about one of the most visited places in Lorraine: the Place Stan' .The Place is not the biggest Place of Nancy but it is the most beautiful without a doubt! The Place is on the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The square is surrounded by an architecturally harmonious ensemble of buildings, most notably the City Hall of Nancy (Hotel de Ville) and the Fine Art Museum which are wonderful buildings!
In the middle of the Place stands a statue of a Duke of Lorraine named Stanislas.
The Place Stanislas were imagined as a way to link the medieval old town of Nancy and the new town. Its construction began in 1752 and ended in 1755. As it was quit old, the Place has been renovated in 2004 and 2005. The inauguration of the New Place Stanislas coincided with the square's 250th anniversary.
I think this Place has always been wonderful and now it's been renovated, it is even more! I think it has something royale as the four corners and West and East sides of the square have iron and golden gates, old lanterns and fountains.

We can acces the Pépinière by the Place. It is a big public garden where you can find a lot of different trees and flowers, and animals too!
I love going on a cafe terrace of the Place Stan' after I walked with my family or friends along the little roads of the Pépinière. And the Place is amazing by night!
